Put mashed potatoes in an open plate and add soaked poha, shreaded bread crumbs, salt to taste, garam masala powder, chat masala powder, red chilli powder, chopped ginger, coriander leaves.

Mix all the ingredients until well combined. Take a generous portion of the mixture and shape each into a cutlet or give the desired shape of your choice. Sprinkle little water on the ready cutlets and then coat with bread crumbs.

Heat oil in a pan or karahi for frying. Now add prepared cutlets in a batch of 5 to 6 cutlets at a time.

You can prepare the dough for Poha Cutlet with any of your kids favorite vegetables like potato, paneer, gobhi, corns or any other. this time I have used only boiled potatoes with poha for going with the very basic recipe of cutlets. Rest you need the simple spices from your kitchen and cooking oil for frying the cutlets.

Ingredients

  • Flattened rice (Poha)- 2 cups
  • Boiled Potatoes (aloo)- 2 Units
  • Garam masala- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chaat Masala-1 teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • chopped Ginger- 1 inch
  • Coriander leaves (Dhania)- 2 springs
  • Bread slices- 2
  • Cooking oil , for frying
  • Salt- to taste

Instructions

  1. To start on, place the beaten rice in a sieve and wash it thoroughly with water for a few seconds. Keep aside for 10 to 15  minutes to let it become soft. Mash the boiled potatoes finely. Shred the bread slices for further process.
  2. Put mashed potatoes in an open plate and add soaked poha, shreaded bread crumbs, salt to taste, garam masala powder, chat masala powder, red chilli powder, chopped ginger, coriander leaves. Mix all the ingredients until well combined.

  4. Sprinkle little water on the ready cutlets and then coat with bread crumbs. Prepare every batch of the cutlets in the same way.
  5. Heat oil in a pan or karahi for frying. Now add prepared cutlets in a batch of 5 to 6 cutlets at a time.
  6. Fry until golden brown on both the sides and crisp.
  7. Your Poha Cutlet is ready, you can transfer them to a serving plate.
  8. The Poha Cutlet can be served with Dhaniya Pudhina Chutney or Tomato ketchup.

Note:

Use the ready dough within 1/2 an hour, otherwise it will become soft and will break while frying.
